2005 Iowa State Fair Cooking
Contest Pictures & Entry Stories
Nine cooking entrants submitted their food and stories for the “Food to Tame a Dragon” contest August 20th at the Iowa State Fair. Sallie Abba and emcee Alan Koslow read the stories while the judges sampled and graded the food. Members of the Third Friday improvisational comedy group also provided entertainment featuring members of the cooking contest audience.
Judges for the contest were: Christine Miller, Al Hohrmann, and Liz Koslow.
The winners and the prizes they received were:
Marra Burr won First Place and received $50.00 plus a membership to DemiCon 17
Judy Jordan took Second Place and received $25.00 plus a membership to DemiCon 17
Elaine Cummings won Third Place and received $10.00 plus a membership to DemiCon 17
